Choose More Ethical Eggs

You go to the grocery in search of some eggs for breakfast tomorrow. When you reach the gallery of eggs you see the cartons have a wide variety of descriptions with words like “pasture raised” or “cage-free”. Confused, you just pick a random one and hope for the best. But what is the difference?

The term “cage-free” is pretty self-explanatory, but not in the way one would expect. These chickens are indeed not in a cage, but they are still trapped in an enclosure where they are stepping on muck and are crowded together. These chickens usually never get to go outdoors.

Free-range is slightly better than cage-free chickens, due to the fact that the chickens get to go outside. However, by USDA regulation, free range chickens only need access to the outdoors, therefore there is no telling in how long they were outside for. In many cases, the chickens are kept in a warehouse similar to the cage-free chickens, and have an opening to wander out to a small patch of dirt.

Compared to these two, pasture-raised seems to be the best option. These chickens are raised exactly how you would think — on a pasture. This is both healthier for the chickens and the egg consumers as it ensures the exercise and the well being of the animal.

Your wordpress site is very sleek – hope you don’t mind me asking what theme you’re using?

(and don’t mind if I steal it? :P)

I just launched my site –also built in wordpress like yours– but the theme slows (!) the site down quite a bit.

In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching for “royal cbd” on Google (would appreciate any feedback) – it’s still
